LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, October 5, 2026 — Print UV announced today that nominations are open for the Ullee Awards, and with them a simpler idea of what an industry award should be.
No maze of categories. No entry fees dressed up as prestige. No contest that asks you to fill out a binder before anyone cares. The Ullee Awards are a celebration of an individual or a celebration of the work. Print UV is reinventing the concept of an industry award for the UV and LED UV community that built this conference.
Two honors will be presented at Print UV 2027:
- The Ullee Legacy Award, celebrating an individual whose career, leadership and dedication have made a lasting impact on the UV printing industry.
- The Ullee Innovation Award, celebrating a product, technology, process, application or innovation that significantly advances UV printing. The spotlight is on the work itself: quality, capability, productivity, sustainability or customer value. It is not a multi-category print contest.
Both awards are named in honor of Hans Ulland, Print UV Emeritus Founder and co-founder of the conference with Steve Metcalf. The name Ullee was created for these awards: it blends Ulland with Lee, joining Hans's family name with the maiden name of his wife, Kristin Lee.
"Most industry awards make you jump through hoops," said Steve Metcalf, co-founder of Print UV. "We're doing the opposite. One celebration of a person who left a lasting mark. One celebration of the work that moved the craft ahead. Easy. Simple. A nomination literally takes two to three minutes. We want everyone to put forward the person or the printer doing the most to make high-value print magic happen."
Recipients of each Ullee Award receive:
- A complimentary pass to Print UV 2027 for themselves and a guest
- Recognition in front of the Print UV community
- Publicity of the award
- A celebration of their achievements at the conference
Renee Schouten, Vice President of Marketing at INX International Ink Co., chairs the 2027 Ullee Awards. A committee of industry people will review nominations for both honors.

There is no fee to nominate. A submission takes about two to three minutes. Peers, suppliers, printers and thoughtful self-nominations with supporting context are welcome. Print UV encourages everyone to nominate the person or the printer doing the most to make high-value print magic happen.
